We have had a busy few weeks in support of our Save Our Green Belt campaign with members working hard to get signatures on our petition at a variety of events including the Festival of Nature at the Waterside and last week’s Heritage Fair at Acton Court.

In addition, we have discussed our campaign with several Parish Councils and other local bodies and have recently met Roger Berry to explain our objections to the development plans. Some of you may have seen our publicity stunt on College Green earlier in June which was televised on both BBC and ITV and attracted considerable interest from the General Public on the day.

I am happy to say that we have received overwhelming support for our campaign from the vast majority of people we have met and our aim is to secure at least one thousand signatures on our petition before submitting this to the Chair of the Regional Assembly in July.
